Wheeler Farm

This is the place we've scheduled for our wedding/reception.  Jessica has a fun tie to Wheeler Farm, just one more reason to celebrate here. Her third great grandmother, Emma Ellen Watkins was born 12/21/1858 in the old house still standing on the property. The old house was built by her 5th great grandfather, born in 1795 in England!

Our First Base Location...

I just found out that Vince's first base location will be Fort Carson.  He'll be joining a divion that is just returning from Afghanastan so that means we'll have some time together before he gets deployed! 

We'll be moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado!!!  It looks like a beautiful place.  I'm in the process of finding an off-base apartment for us.  It's hard to do by only looking at pictures and talking to people online! 

How We Met!

September 2008 we met through friends at my work (movies) and we were going to a haunted house.  A group of friends were getting together before our common friend "Izzy" was going on his mission.  We went to the haunted forest.  We were in different groups but didn't really know each other yet.  He offered me his sweater.  He joined our large group when we went to another haunted house the same night.  I asked Izzy on facebook who he was to find out more about him.  Vince kept asking Izzy information about me.  We contacted each other through facebook.

Our first date was to a movie.  After dating each other for a month we decided to just see each other.  We dated for close to a year before he asked me to marry him, August 15, 2009 at Daybreak Lake.  I said "Yes!" with all the enthusiasm in the world! 

He joined the Army and we're waiting for the groom to get back so we can have a wedding and I can be an army wife!  He makes me feel special and I love him with all my heart! - Jessica

Vince's Army experience

November and Vince is in black phase of AIT training and getting blow up lots of things!

Vince is going through basic training and AIT training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.  He's had to kiss a lot of Missouri mud while rolling around in it for 45 minutes one day.  He said it was fine until you hit a rock.

He got "gassed" one day where he experienced the full effects of tear gas.  He said it cleared you out better than chili on a cold day. 

He's in the Ft. Leonard Wood LDS Branch and get's to send and receive email through the church's computers on Sunday.

His MOS is Combat Engineer.  Graduation is scheduled for Dec. 16, 2009.
